   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before beginning.

   Eject the SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop out the tray and pull it out completely.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back panel for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the back cover to the frame.

   Attach a suction handle

   Place a suction cup onto the lower center portion of the back panel. Pull up gently to create a slight gap between the cover and the frame.

   Insert an opening pick

   Insert the tip of a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created near the bottom edge. Do not push the pick in too deep to avoid damaging internal ribbons.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Slide the pick slowly along the bottom, sides, and top edges of the phone. Cut through all perimeter adhesive sealing the rear cover.

   Lift off the rear cover

   Gently lift the back cover off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the lower speaker cover

   Use a PH00 Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker assembly. Store the screws together safely.

   Pry up the speaker enclosure

   Insert a nylon spudger under the notch of the speaker housing. Carefully lift up and remove the speaker assembly from the device.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the edge of a plastic spudger to snap the battery flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket. Disconnecting power prevents electrical damage.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Pry up the lower connection of the main flex cable off the sub-board using a spudger. Bend the cable slightly out of the way.

    Disconnect the antenna coaxial cables

    Use fine tweezers to gently lift the antenna cable connectors straight off their sockets on the sub-board. Take care not to damage the delicate metal snaps.

    Unscrew the sub-board

    Remove the single Phillips screw holding the charging port sub-board to the frame.

    Remove the old charging port board

    Insert a flat opening tool beneath the sub-board and gently lever it up from the housing. Lift out the damaged charging port assembly.

    Position the new charging port board

    Place the new charging port sub-board into its slot in the frame. Align the USB-C port with the cutout at the bottom edge.

    Secure the sub-board screw

    Reinstall and tighten the single Phillips screw to hold the new charging board firmly in place.

    Reconnect the antenna cables

    Align the antenna cable connectors carefully over their sub-board terminals. Press down gently until each snaps into place.

    Reconnect the main interconnect cable

    Align the main flex cable connector over its socket on the new sub-board. Press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Snap the battery flex connector back onto the mainboard terminal to restore power to the system.

    Reinstall the speaker enclosure

    Place the lower speaker assembly back over the bottom sub-board region and press it flush into the frame.

    Tighten the speaker screws

    Reinstall all lower Phillips screws into the speaker housing to secure it completely.

    Apply rear cover adhesive

    Clean off remaining old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol, then lay down fresh pre-cut adhesive strips around the perimeter frame.

    Seal the rear cover

    Align the back panel precisely with the phone frame and press down firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.
