   Power down the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Shut Down to ensure the phone is completely powered off.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the tray on the side of the phone and press firmly to pop it out.

   Heat the back panel

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer on medium heat around the perimeter of the rear panel for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and press down to create a tight seal.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small seam and slide a plastic opening pick under the edge.

   Slice the edge adhesive

   Slide the opening pick carefully along all four edges of the back panel to separate the perimeter tape.

   Remove the back cover

   Gently lift the rear plastic cover away from the chassis and set it aside.

   Unscrew the upper midframe

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield.

   Unclip the upper midframe

   Insert a spudger under the plastic bracket edges and pop the clips loose to remove the shield.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using the flat end of a spudger.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-grade isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery compartment to weaken the glue.

    Pull the battery adhesive tabs

    Grasp the exposed pull tabs at the battery edge with tweezers and pull them out slowly at a low angle.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a wide plastic spudger under the battery and carefully lever it out of the recess.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Place fresh battery adhesive strips into the empty battery compartment and peel off the protective backing.

    Set the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the well and press down firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Attach the battery flex cable

    Align and press the battery connector into its socket on the motherboard until it clicks.

    Reinstall the upper midframe

    Place the plastic motherboard shield back onto the frame and press down until the side clips snap into place.

    Secure the midframe screws

    Thread and tighten all Phillips #000 screws to hold the upper bracket in place.

    Clean adhesive residue

    Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to remove old tape residue from the rear cover and phone housing.

    Apply back panel adhesive

    Position custom-cut back cover adhesive tape along the perimeter rim of the phone chassis.

    Reattach the back cover

    Align the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges to seat the adhesive.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until flush.
