Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card tray on the left edge of the phone. Push firmly to pop out the tray and remove it.

2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minAttach a suction handle to the lower back panel and pull up to create a small gap. Slide an opening pick beneath the glass edge.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
3 minGuide the opening pick around all four edges of the rear cover to completely slice through the factory adhesive tape.

Remove the Rear Cover

2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws securing the lower loudspeaker housing.

Disconnect the Main Interconnect Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to pry the main flex cable connector straight up from the daughterboard.

Disconnect the Antenna Cable
1 minUse precision tweezers to carefully snap the coaxial antenna cable off its connector socket on the daughterboard.

Remove the Microphone Daughterboard
2 minSlide a plastic opening tool beneath the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone and pry it up from the frame.

Position the New Daughterboard
1 minPlace the replacement microphone daughterboard into the bottom housing slot and press down lightly to seat it.

Reconnect the Antenna Cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna head precisely over its board socket and snap it into place using tweezers.

1 minAlign the main flex cable press connector over the board and press down firmly until it clicks.

Reinstall the Loudspeaker Cover
