Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button on your Motorola Moto G 5G 2022, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject the SIM card tray

Disconnect the volume button connector
2 minLocate the volume button flex cable connector on the side of the motherboard. Use a spudger to gently snap the flex cable connector out of its socket.

Unstick the volume button flex cable
3 minSlide precision tweezers beneath the volume button ribbon inside the frame channel. Carefully pry up and loosen the ribbon from the frame adhesive.

Remove the volume button keys
2 minUse tweezers to release the retaining clips holding the volume key buttons inside the frame. Push the physical volume buttons out of the frame housing.

Install the new volume button flex cable
3 minAlign the replacement volume button flex cable into the frame recess on the side of the phone. Press down firmly to stick the ribbon adhesive in place.

Connect the volume flex cable
2 minAlign the press connector of the new volume flex cable directly over its motherboard socket. Press down firmly until it snaps into place.
