   Power down the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered off before continuing.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it from the phone.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heat gun set to low warmth along the back cover edges for about two minutes. This softens the factory perimeter adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower section of the back panel. Pull upward smoothly on the ring to create a thin gap near the charging port.

   Slice through rear adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap made by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges to cut the perimeter adhesive.

   Remove the rear cover

   Lift the rear cover straight off the chassis once all adhesive is severed. Set the back panel aside on a clean surface.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove all screws holding down the upper plastic motherboard frame. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

   Detach the motherboard shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the top edge of the plastic shield. Gently pry up to unsnap and remove the cover.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pop the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard. This prevents accidental short circuits during repair.

    Disconnect power button flex

    Locate the power and volume button flex connector on the edge of the motherboard. Pry it straight up from its socket with a plastic spudger.

    Peel off old power button flex

    Use fine tweezers to carefully peel the ribbon cable and physical button switch away from the inner side frame. Discard the damaged flex cable assembly.

    Position new power button flex

    Peel any protective adhesive backing from the replacement power button ribbon. Align the switch components into the frame channel and press firmly.

    Attach power button connector

    Align the flex connector directly over its motherboard socket. Press down gently until you feel it click into place.

    Reconnect the battery flex

    Snap the battery connector back onto its motherboard socket using your thumb or a plastic spudger.

    Reinstall motherboard shield

    Place the plastic upper frame back over the motherboard and press down to seat it. Reinstall all previously removed Phillips screws tightly.
