   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off to turn off the device completely.

   Remove SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge of the phone and push inward to pop out the tray.

   Heat the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to heat the edges of the back cover for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, just above the bottom edge.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up gently on the suction cup to create a small gap and slide a thin plastic opening pick between the back cover and frame.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the opening pick slowly around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the adhesive seal.

   Lift off back cover

   Carefully separate the rear panel from the frame and set it aside.

   Unscrew upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top plastic motherboard shield.

   Remove motherboard cover

   Insert a spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield and lift it off the chassis.

    Disconnect battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard.

    Unscrew loudspeaker housing

    Remove the Phillips #00 screws holding the loudspeaker assembly at the bottom of the device.

    Remove loudspeaker assembly

    Pry up the loudspeaker module with a spudger and lift it out of the phone body.

    Disconnect interconnect flex cables

    Use a plastic spudger to detach the main interconnect and display flex cables that run across the battery.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Drip a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery to weaken the glue beneath it.

    Pry out the battery

    Slide a flat plastic prying tool or plastic card under the edge of the battery and slowly lever it up from the frame.

    Clean battery well

    Remove remaining adhesive residue from the frame recess using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply replacement battery adhesive

    Peel the backing from new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat into the battery housing.

    Install new battery

    Set the replacement battery into the frame well and press firmly to secure it to the adhesive.

    Reconnect interconnect flex cables

    Align and press down on the interconnect flex connectors until they snap securely into place.

    Reconnect battery press connector

    Align the battery flex connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down firmly to connect it.

    Reinstall loudspeaker housing

    Place the loudspeaker module back into the lower frame and reinsert the Phillips #00 screws.

    Reinstall motherboard cover

    Position the top plastic shield over the motherboard and secure it with the saved Phillips #00 screws.

    Apply back cover adhesive

    Place pre-cut adhesive tape or a thin bead of frame adhesive along the perimeter of the chassis.

    Reseal rear panel

    Align the back cover over the phone and press down evenly around all edges to bond the adhesive.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Slide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it sits flush with the side frame.
