   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left side of the frame. Push firmly to pop the tray out, then remove it completely.

   Heat the rear cover

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer to the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the rear panel to the frame.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel. Pull up gently to create a small gap between the back cover and frame.

   Slice the perimeter adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick around all four edges to slice through the adhesive.

   Lift the rear panel

   Carefully tilt the back cover open from the right side like a book. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still connected.

   Unscrew the fingerprint bracket

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal bracket over the fingerprint cable connector.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use the flat end of a spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable straight up from its socket. Remove the rear panel from the workspace.

   Unscrew the loudspeaker cover

   Remove the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly to the frame. Keep the screws organized for reassembly.

    Pry up the loudspeaker assembly

    Insert a spudger beneath the edge of the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the chassis. Set the speaker housing aside.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Use a spudger to gently pop off the main board-to-board flex cable connector from the sub-board.

    Disconnect the antenna cable

    Use precision tweezers to unsnap the coaxial antenna cable from its connector on the microphone sub-board.

    Remove the microphone sub-board

    Insert the flat edge of a spudger under the sub-board and lift it free from the phone frame. Ensure the tiny rubber microphone gasket is removed with it.

    Install the new microphone sub-board

    Align the new sub-board into the lower recess of the phone frame and press down firmly to set it in place.

    Reconnect the antenna cable

    Align the coaxial antenna cable connector over its socket on the sub-board and gently press down until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the interconnect cable

    Position the main board-to-board flex cable over the sub-board terminal and press firmly until you feel a click.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker cover

    Place the loudspeaker cover back over the sub-board area and secure it with the seven Phillips #000 screws.

    Reconnect and secure the fingerprint sensor

    Snap the fingerprint sensor cable onto the motherboard, reposition the metal cover bracket, and tighten the Phillips screw.

    Reseal the back cover

    Apply new pre-cut adhesive to the edges of the frame, align the rear cover, and press firmly along the edges to seal the phone.
