   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert the SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge and push to pop out the tray.

   Heat the rear cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on medium heat to warm the outer edges of the back cover for about two minutes.

   Attach the suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the rear cover and pull upward gently to create a gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam between the glass back panel and the frame.

   Slice the bottom adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom edge of the phone to cut through the factory adhesive sealant.

   Slice the left adhesive

   Guide the opening pick around the bottom-left corner and up along the left seam of the rear cover.

   Slice the top adhesive

   Move the pick along the top edge of the device to break the adhesive bond near the camera module.

   Slice the right adhesive

   Slide the pick down the right edge of the rear cover until all four sides are detached.

    Lift the rear cover carefully

    Gently hinge open the rear cover to the right side, taking care not to stretch the fingerprint sensor cable.

    Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

    Use the pointed end of a plastic spudger to pop off the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the motherboard.

    Remove the rear cover

    Set the back cover aside in a safe, dust-free area.

    Remove upper frame screws

    Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 10 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame.

    Detach the motherboard frame

    Pry up the motherboard plastic cover using a spudger and lift it off the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Disconnect the main interconnect cable

    Use the flat end of a spudger to unclip the flex cable overlying the battery.

    Expose adhesive pull tabs

    Peel back the clear plastic release film located at the bottom edge of the battery.

    Pull the adhesive strips

    Grab the adhesive pull tabs and slowly pull them out at a flat, low angle until they release.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol if needed

    If the adhesive tabs snap, place a few drops of isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges and wait 2 minutes.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a flat plastic prying tool under the battery and lift slowly to free it from the frame.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the depleted battery out of the frame and dispose of it at an appropriate battery recycling point.

    Install new adhesive strips

    Place fresh double-sided battery adhesive strips into the recess on the phone body.

    Set the new battery

    Align the replacement battery in the well and press down firmly for 10 seconds to secure it.

    Reconnect the battery press connector

    Snap the battery flex cable into the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.
