Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the display. Ensure the device is entirely shut down before starting.

Remove the SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM card slot. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it from the phone.

Heat the Back Cover Edges
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a Suction Handle
1 minPlace a suction handle near the bottom edge of the back cover and press firmly to create a seal.

Slice the Back Cover Adhesive
5 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, then insert an opening pick under the plastic cover. Slide the pick around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Lift the Back Cover Carefully
2 minGently pivot the rear cover open from the left side. Do not pull it away completely, as the fingerprint reader cable is still connected.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minUse a spudger to pry up and disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable from the mainboard bracket.

Unscrew the Loudspeaker Housing
3 minRemove the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom speaker enclosure to the frame.

Pry Up the Speaker Module
2 minInsert a flat spudger under the edge of the lower speaker housing and gently lift it out of the chassis.

Insert the Replacement Loudspeaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker module with the lower housing slot and press down until it sits flush.

Secure the Speaker Screws
3 minReinstall the seven Phillips #00 screws to firmly hold the loudspeaker module in place.

Reconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minHold the back cover close to the frame and press the fingerprint sensor flex connector down until it snaps into place.

Apply Back Cover Adhesive
4 minClean remaining old glue with isopropyl alcohol, then apply pre-cut adhesive strips along the perimeter of the phone chassis.

Seal the Back Cover
2 minAlign the rear panel with the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the fresh adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM Card Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until flush.
