Step-by-step

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the left edge of the phone to pop out the SIM and microSD tray.

Heat rear cover
2 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice rear adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge and insert an opening pick into the gap to slice through the adhesive seal.

Disconnect fingerprint flex
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover and use a spudger to pop off the fingerprint sensor flex connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew upper bracket
3 minRemove the eleven Phillips #000 screws holding the plastic motherboard cover in place.

Remove motherboard cover
1 minInsert a plastic prying pick under the edge of the upper bracket and lift it clear of the device.

Disconnect battery press connector
1 minUse the flat end of a spudger to detach the battery flex cable from the upper right side of the logic board.

Disconnect display flex cable
1 minPry the display flex cable straight up from its motherboard socket using a spudger.

Disconnect interconnect flex cable
1 minUnplug the main board-to-board interconnect cable connecting the logic board to the daughterboard.

Unplug coaxial antennas
2 minUse precision tweezers to gently lever up the black and white coaxial antenna cable connectors from the board.

Disconnect camera modules
2 minDisconnect the connectors for the front selfie camera and the three rear camera modules.

Remove logic board screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips #000 screw securing the logic board to the phone frame.

Lift out logic board
2 minCarefully pry up the logic board from the bottom edge and lift it out of the chassis.

Install replacement logic board
2 minAlign the replacement logic board in the top housing and press it flat into position.

Reattach camera modules and flexes
3 minReconnect the cameras, antenna cables, display flex, and interconnect cable to their respective sockets on the board.

Reinstall upper cover and screws
3 minSnap the battery flex connector back in place, align the motherboard bracket, and secure it with the eleven screws.
