   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card tray on the upper-left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the rear panel

   Apply a heat gun or hairdryer around the edges of the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the internal perimeter adhesive.

   Attach the suction cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear plastic cover. Pull gently to create a small gap along the bottom seam.

   Slice the back cover adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Slide the pick slowly along all edges to slice through the adhesive.

   Pivot the back cover open

   Gently swing the back cover open toward the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor flex cable is still attached.

   Disconnect the fingerprint flex cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint reader connector straight up from the motherboard. Set the back cover aside.

   Unscrew the motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all 11 screws securing the upper plastic midframe bracket.

   Remove the plastic motherboard shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the edge of the motherboard shield and lift it away from the chassis.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry up the battery press connector from its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger to prevent short circuits.

    Disconnect the display cable

    Locate the wide display ribbon connector on the motherboard and use a spudger to detach it.

    Heat the front glass display

    Apply heat evenly across the front screen for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the adhesive holding the display to the frame.

    Slice the display panel adhesive

    Attach a suction cup to the screen, pull upward, and insert a thin opening pick between the glass and the bezel perimeter.

    Remove the old display panel

    Carefully lift the screen off the frame while guiding the display flex cable out through its dedicated slot in the chassis.

    Clean the display housing frame

    Scrape away remaining glue with tweezers and wipe the perimeter clean using a lint-free cloth dampened with 99% isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new display adhesive

    Lay pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the entire inner ledge of the phone frame.

    Install the replacement screen

    Thread the flex cable of the new display through the frame slot and press the glass firmly into position around all edges.

    Reconnect internal connectors

    Align and press the display flex cable and the battery cable back onto their corresponding motherboard sockets until they click.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Place the upper plastic midframe cover back over the motherboard and tighten the 11 Phillips #00 screws.

    Seal the back cover

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor, apply fresh back cover adhesive, press the rear panel onto the frame, and reinsert the SIM tray.
