Safety
- Wear an anti-static wrist strap to avoid damaging internal components with electrostatic discharge.
- Do not overheat the rear panel above 80°C to prevent damage to the internal battery and LCD screen.
- Avoid bending or pulling hard on the delicate fingerprint sensor cable when lifting the rear panel.

Step-by-step
- 1
Remove the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left frame edge. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

Heat the back cover edges
2 minApply heat around the rear panel perimeter with a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Slice the back cover adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back cover and pull upward to create a small gap. Insert an opening pick into the gap and slide it along the edges to slice the adhesive.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable
2 minSlightly tilt open the back cover from the right edge without pulling the attached sensor cable. Use a spudger to pry the fingerprint flex cable connector off the motherboard.

Unscrew the loudspeaker module
3 minRemove the seven Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic loudspeaker housing at the bottom of the device.

Remove the loudspeaker housing
2 minInsert a spudger under the notch of the loudspeaker housing and pry upward to remove it from the phone.

Disconnect the interconnect flex cable
1 minUse a spudger to pop the bottom interconnect flex cable connector straight up off the sub-board.

Disconnect the antenna coaxial cable
2 minGently pry the white antenna coaxial cable connector up from its socket on the right side of the sub-board using tweezers.

Remove the faulty microphone sub-board
2 minPry gently beneath the bottom microphone sub-board with a spudger to loosen the light adhesive holding it, then lift it out of the chassis.

Install the new microphone sub-board
2 minPlace the new sub-board into the bottom cavity of the phone, ensuring the primary microphone hole aligns correctly with the frame opening.

Reconnect the antenna coaxial cable
2 minAlign the antenna cable head directly over the sub-board socket and press down gently with a flat spudger until it clicks into place.

Reconnect the interconnect flex cable
1 minPress the lower interconnect cable connector down onto the sub-board socket until you feel it snap closed.

Reinstall the loudspeaker cover
1 minPosition the loudspeaker housing back over the sub-board and press it flat into the chassis.

Secure the loudspeaker screws
3 minThread and tighten the seven Phillips #000 screws to hold the loudspeaker and sub-board firmly in place.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable
2 minHold the back cover near the phone body and snap the fingerprint sensor connector back onto the motherboard.

Reseal the back cover
3 minApply new adhesive strips along the frame perimeter, press the back cover firmly onto the frame, and reinsert the SIM card tray.
