   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left side of the phone. Push inward firmly until the tray pops out, then pull it completely free.

   Heat the Rear Cover

   Apply mild heat from a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Insert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the rear cover and the frame at the bottom edge. Slide the pick around the perimeter to release the plastic snaps and adhesive.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor

   Carefully swing the back cover open to the side like a book. Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector from the motherboard.

   Unscrew Motherboard Cover

   Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the eleven screws securing the plastic motherboard frame cover.

   Remove Motherboard Cover

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the corner of the plastic motherboard cover and pry upward to remove it from the device.

   Disconnect the Battery

   Pry the battery press connector straight up from its motherboard socket using a plastic spudger to cut power to the device.

   Disconnect Power Button Flex

   Locate the power and volume button flex cable on the upper right edge. Pry the press connector straight up off the motherboard with a spudger.

   Peel Power Button Cable

   Slide precision tweezers under the power button flex cable on the inner side of the frame. Carefully peel the adhesive flex strip away from the housing.

    Remove Actuator Key

    If replacing the external button, use tweezers to gently push and lift the physical power button key inward out of its frame slot.

    Position New Button Assembly

    Peel the protective film off the new power button flex adhesive and seat the physical key and flex strip into the recess on the inner frame.

    Reconnect Power Button Cable

    Align the press connector on the new power button flex cable over its motherboard socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Reconnect the Battery

    Press the battery flex connector straight down onto the motherboard socket until it clicks.

    Attach Fingerprint Connector

    Hold the rear cover near the device frame and snap the fingerprint sensor connector back onto its motherboard socket.

    Reinstall Motherboard Cover

    Set the plastic motherboard cover into position over the top assembly and press down gently along the edges to click it in place.

    Secure Motherboard Screws

    Reinstall the eleven Phillips #000 screws into the motherboard cover until snug.

    Snap Back Cover Closed

    Align the back cover with the chassis and press firmly around all edges until every clip snaps into place.

    Reinsert SIM Tray

    Reinsert the SIM card tray into the phone until it sits completely flush with the outer frame.
