   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert the SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the left edge and push firmly to pop out the tray.

   Heat the rear edges

   Apply gentle heat from a heat gun along the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the plastic clips.

   Create a pry gap

   Insert a plastic prying pick into the thin seam between the rear cover and the front frame assembly.

   Unclip the rear cover

   Slide the plastic pick along all sides of the frame to release the plastic perimeter clips.

   Lift the back cover carefully

   Gently tilt the back cover open from the right side, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable.

   Disconnect the fingerprint sensor

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight up from the motherboard.

   Remove motherboard cover screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard shield.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Insert a spudger under the motherboard shield edge and lift it up to detach it from the phone.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press connector straight up off its socket on the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Drip a small amount of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the side edges of the battery to weaken the glue.

    Warm the battery adhesive

    Apply mild heat from a heat gun to the back of the battery compartment for one minute.

    Pry out the old battery

    Slide a flat plastic opening card beneath the battery edge and gradually lever it up out of the housing.

    Clean the battery recess

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the chassis well using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply battery adhesive

    Place new double-sided battery adhesive strips into the clean battery well and peel away the protective backing.

    Install the new battery

    Position the new battery into the housing and press down evenly across its top surface.

    Attach the battery connector

    Align and press the battery cable connector straight down onto the motherboard until it clicks.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Place the plastic motherboard cover back in position and press it flush into the frame.

    Secure motherboard screws

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips #00 screws into the motherboard shield until snug.

    Reconnect fingerprint sensor

    Hold the rear cover near the chassis and snap the fingerprint sensor cable onto the motherboard socket.

    Snap the back cover closed

    Align the back cover and press firmly around all perimeter edges until every clip snaps completely shut.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
