Step-by-step

Power Off the Phone
1 minTurn off the Motorola G84 immediately to prevent electrical short circuits. Do not attempt to charge or power on the device while wet.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card slot on the left edge. Pull the SIM tray completely out of the phone.

Heat the Back Panel
3 minApply heat to the edges of the rear cover for 2 to 3 minutes using a heat gun set to low. This softens the adhesive holding the back panel in place.

Slice the Back Cover Adhesive
5 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull upward to create a small gap. Insert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to cut the adhesive.

Remove the Back Cover
2 minGently lift the back cover off the chassis. Set the rear panel aside in a dry area.

Unscrew the Plastic Midframe
4 minRemove all Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic midframe to the phone's housing. Keep the screws organized by location.

Unclip the Midframe
3 minInsert the flat edge of a spudger between the midframe and the outer housing. Pry gently around the edges to release the plastic clips and lift the midframe off.

Disconnect the Battery Cable
