Power Off the Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button until the options appear on screen. Tap 'Power off' and ensure the screen goes completely dark before proceeding.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the side of the phone. Push firmly until the tray pops out, then remove it completely.

Heat the Rear Cover
3 minApply heat around the outer perimeter of the back cover using a heat gun or hair dryer for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel near the charging port. Pull upward gently to create a slight gap between the cover and the frame.

Insert an Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created by the suction cup. Be careful not to insert it too deeply into the device.

Slice the Rear Cover Adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the edges of the device to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Reapply heat if the pick meets heavy resistance.

Unclip the Fingerprint Sensor Cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover starting from the right side, taking care not to strain the flex cable. Use a spudger to pry up and disconnect the fingerprint reader ribbon cable from the motherboard.

Remove the Rear Cover
1 minLift the rear cover completely off the phone frame and place it on a clean surface.

Unscrew the Speaker Module
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the lower speaker module in place at the bottom of the device.

Pry Up the Speaker Housing
2 minInsert a flat spudger under the notch of the loudspeaker housing. Carefully lever the module up and detach it from the frame.

Position the Replacement Speaker
2 minAlign the new loudspeaker housing over the lower sub-board connector area. Press down evenly until the module sits flush in the chassis.

Secure the Speaker Screws
3 minReinsert and tighten the Phillips screws to hold the new loudspeaker housing firmly against the frame.

Reconnect the Fingerprint Sensor
2 minHold the rear cover close to the device and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector onto its motherboard socket until it clicks.

Apply Rear Adhesive
3 minRemove any leftover adhesive strips from the frame and apply new pre-cut double-sided adhesive along the perimeter.

Seal the Rear Cover
2 minAlign the back panel with the body of the phone and press down firmly around all edges to secure the fresh adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot until it clicks flush into the frame.
