Step-by-step
- 1
Turn off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to safely shut down the device.

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole next to the tray on the left edge and push firmly to eject it.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply heat to the edges of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel and pull upward to create a slight seam.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minInsert an opening pick into the gap and slowly slide it around the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Disconnect fingerprint cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover and use a plastic spudger to pop off the fingerprint reader flex connector.

Remove loudspeaker screws
2 minUnscrew the six Phillips #00 screws securing the bottom loudspeaker housing to the frame.

Remove loudspeaker assembly
1 minInsert a spudger under the notch on the speaker module and pry it upward to remove it.

Disconnect interconnect cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to lift and disconnect the main interconnect flex cable from the sub-board.

Disconnect antenna cable
1 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the sub-board using fine tweezers.

Pry up sub-board
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool under the sub-board containing the primary microphone and lift it out.

Transfer microphone gasket
2 minPeel the small rubber microphone gasket off the old sub-board and place it onto the new microphone port.

Install new sub-board
2 minSet the new sub-board into the lower housing slot and press gently until it sits flush.

Reconnect antenna cable
1 minAlign and snap the coaxial antenna cable connector back onto its press-fit socket on the sub-board.

Reconnect interconnect cable
1 minAlign the main interconnect flex cable over its socket on the sub-board and press down until it clicks.

Reinstall loudspeaker assembly
2 minPosition the loudspeaker housing over the sub-board and tighten the six Phillips #00 screws.

Reconnect fingerprint sensor
2 minHold the rear cover near the chassis and press the fingerprint flex cable back into its socket.

Apply back cover adhesive
2 minApply pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the outer edge of the frame.

Seal the rear cover
1 minAlign the rear cover with the frame and press firmly around all edges to secure the adhesive bond.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into its slot on the left side of the device until fully flush.
