Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole beside the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to eject the tray, then remove it completely.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Attach Suction Handle
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the back cover near the USB-C port.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction handle to create a small gap between the back cover and the frame, then insert an opening pick.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
3 minSlide the opening pick along all four edges of the device to cut through the remaining adhesive seal.

Lift Back Cover Slightly
1 minGently tilt open the back cover from the left edge like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor cable.

Unscrew Fingerprint Bracket
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the metal shield over the fingerprint sensor cable connector.

Detach Fingerprint Sensor Flex
1 minUse a plastic spudger to gently pry the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector straight up from the motherboard.

Disconnect Coaxial Antenna Cable
1 minUse precision tweezers to pry up the white coaxial antenna cable head from its socket on the sub-board.

Remove Sub-Board Screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw holding the sub-board to the internal plastic housing.

Remove Old Charging Port Sub-Board
2 minPry beneath the sub-board with a spudger to unseat it from the frame, then remove it from the device.

Install New Sub-Board
2 minPlace the replacement charging port sub-board into the lower cavity, ensuring the USB-C port aligns with the frame cutout.

Secure Sub-Board Screw
