Power Off Phone
2 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray. Push firmly to eject the tray and remove it.

Heat Rear Cover Edges
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat around the edges of the back cover for one minute to soften plastic clips and adhesive.

Create Rear Cover Gap
2 minInsert a thin plastic prying tool into the seam between the back cover and the front display assembly.

Unclip Rear Cover
3 minSlide the prying tool along the edges of the phone to pop the plastic clips open.

Tilt Back Cover Open
2 minGently lift the back cover off from the right side, taking care not to strain the attached fingerprint flex cable.

Remove Upper Bracket Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the plastic motherboard shield in place.

Remove Motherboard Shield
2 minUse tweezers or a spudger to lift the motherboard shield up and out of the phone body.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pry the fingerprint reader flex cable off its motherboard socket.

Separate Rear Cover
1 minSet the rear cover fully aside once the fingerprint sensor cable is detached.

Remove Speaker Cover Screws
3 minUnscrew the Phillips #000 screws securing the bottom speaker assembly over the charging sub-board.

Lift Out Speaker Module
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the speaker module and pry it out of the lower chassis.

Disconnect Main Ribbon Cable
2 minUse a spudger to detach the main display/interconnect ribbon cable from the bottom left of the charging board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minCarefully pry up the antenna coaxial cable connector from its socket on the charging board using tweezers.

Pry Out Charging Board
3 minSlide a spudger underneath the charging board and gently lever it out of the phone frame.

Set New Charging Board
2 minAlign the new charging port sub-board into the lower recess of the phone frame and press it flat.

Attach Antenna Cable
2 minAlign the coaxial antenna cable head over its socket on the new board and press gently until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Main Ribbon Cable
2 minPress the main interconnect ribbon cable connector down onto the socket on the new sub-board until it clicks.

Position Speaker Housing
2 minPlace the lower speaker assembly back over the new sub-board, making sure alignment pins line up.

Secure Speaker Screws
3 minThread and tighten the Phillips #000 screws back into the speaker housing until snug.

Reconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minHold the back cover near the phone and press the fingerprint sensor flex cable onto its motherboard socket.

2 minSet the plastic upper motherboard shield back into place over the top section of the chassis.

Snap Rear Cover On
3 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly along all perimeter edges until every clip snaps shut.

1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device until flush.
