   Power off the device

   Press and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

   Remove the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the frame and press firmly to eject the tray.

   Heat the back panel edges

   Apply mild heat around the outer seam of the rear cover for 1 to 2 minutes using a hair dryer or heat gun.

   Insert an opening pick

   Pry a plastic opening pick into the thin gap between the rear cover and the front display assembly near the SIM slot.

   Unclip the perimeter clips

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the device to release the plastic snaps holding the rear cover.

   Pivot the rear cover open

   Gently lift the back cover off from the right side, being careful not to strain the delicate fingerprint ribbon cable.

   Remove the Phillips #000 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard cover.

   Lift the plastic cover off the top motherboard assembly using tweezers or a spudger.

    Pry up the battery press connector from its socket on the motherboard to disconnect all power.

    Lift the battery free from the frame and move it to a safe place for proper disposal.

    Wipe the battery housing area with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clear away leftover tape.

    Lay down fresh adhesive removal strips flat inside the clean battery well of the frame.

    Install the new battery

    Place the replacement battery into the compartment and press down firmly to secure it against the adhesive.

    Align and press the main ribbon cable connectors into place over the lower and upper boards.

    Reinsert and tighten the Phillips #000 screws to firm up the top cover.

    Snap the rear panel closed

    Align the rear cover with the chassis and squeeze around the outer edges until all clips snap firmly shut.
