Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the SIM tray. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

Heat the Rear Cover
2 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the seam between the back cover and frame. Slide it along all edges to cut the adhesive.

Disconnect Fingerprint Cable
2 minSlightly lift the rear cover and use a spudger to snap off the fingerprint sensor cable connector from the motherboard.

Unscrew Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard bracket.

2 minPry up the upper plastic motherboard shield with a spudger and lift it out of the chassis.

5 minApply high-grade isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to dissolve the adhesive, then pry it out with a flat spudger.

Scrub Corrosion with Alcohol
10 minSoak a soft nylon brush in 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently scrub all corroded areas on the motherboard and daughterboard.

Dry Circuit Boards
