Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to ensure the phone is completely shut down.

Eject SIM Card Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the tray on the left edge and press firmly to pop it out.

Heat Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or heated iOpener around the outer edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the glue.

Slice Back Cover Adhesive
3 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge, pull upward to create a gap, and insert an opening pick.

Separate Rear Edge Glue
3 minSlide the opening pick along the bottom and side perimeter to slice through the adhesive tape.

Open Rear Cover
2 minGently swing the back cover open toward the right edge, taking care not to strain the attached fingerprint flex cable.

Unclip Bracket Cover
2 minUse fine tweezers to unlatch and remove the metal metal shield covering the fingerprint sensor connector.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
1 minPry the fingerprint sensor flex cable directly upward from the motherboard using a plastic spudger.

Remove Motherboard Shield Screws
4 minUnscrew the Phillips #00 screws holding down the plastic motherboard cover and top speaker assembly.

Remove Motherboard Cover
2 minInsert a spudger under the motherboard shield edge and lift it off the frame.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to detach the battery press-connector from the motherboard.

Apply Isopropyl Alcohol
3 minApply a few drops of 99% isopropyl alcohol around the battery edges to break down the adhesive backing.

Pry Up Battery
4 minSlide a plastic opening card under the bottom edge of the battery and gradually lift it from the frame.

Remove Old Battery
1 minLift the original battery completely out of the frame recess.

Apply Battery Adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue from the housing using isopropyl alcohol and stick new precut adhesive strips in place.

Install New Battery
2 minSet the replacement battery into the recess and press down firmly to set the adhesive.
