Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off to shut down the device completely.

Eject the SIM tray

Disconnect the battery press connector
1 minPry the battery flex connector straight up from the motherboard using a plastic spudger to cut electrical power.

2 minUse a spudger to snap up the display cable and main interconnect flex connectors from the logic board.

Unplug the camera connectors
2 minDisconnect the front selfie camera and rear main camera flex cables from their sockets on the motherboard.

Unsnap coaxial antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to lift the signal antenna coax cable heads straight off the logic board connectors.

Remove logic board retaining screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #000 screw holding the top portion of the logic board to the frame.

Lift out the logic board
2 minGently tilt the lower edge of the motherboard up and remove it completely from the phone frame.

Position replacement logic board
2 minLower the new or repaired logic board into the frame, ensuring no underlying flex cables are trapped beneath it.
