Step-by-step

Power down the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely powered off before starting.

Remove the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject pin into the hole on the SIM card tray. Press firmly to pop the tray out, then set it aside.

Heat the rear cover
2 minApply heat around the perimeter of the back cover using a heat gun or hairdryer for 2 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPlace a suction cup on the lower section of the back cover and pull upward gently to create a gap.

Insert opening pick
1 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup along the bottom edge.

Slice rear cover adhesive
3 minSlide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter adhesive.

Lift off the rear cover
1 minCarefully separate the rear cover from the frame and lay it aside.

Unscrew the loudspeaker assembly
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the bottom loudspeaker assembly.

Disconnect main flex cable
1 minPry the main interconnect flex cable connector straight up from the charging port sub-board using a spudger.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cable
1 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry the antenna coaxial cable head off its socket on the sub-board.

Remove sub-board retaining screw
1 minRemove the single Phillips screw securing the sub-board to the phone frame.

Pry out the damaged sub-board
1 minLever a spudger under the edge of the sub-board and lift the charging board out of the housing.

Position the new charging sub-board
1 minPlace the replacement sub-board into the lower housing, aligning the USB-C port with the outer frame opening.

Secure sub-board screw
1 minReinstall the single Phillips screw to fasten the sub-board to the chassis.

Reconnect antenna coaxial cable
1 minAlign the antenna cable head over its sub-board socket and press down gently until it snaps into place.
