Step-by-step

Power Off the Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole beside the tray on the left edge of the phone and push firmly to pop it out.

Heat the Back Cover
2 minApply a heat gun or heated pad around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the rear adhesive.

Slice the Rear Adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick under the lower edge of the back panel and carefully slide it along all sides to separate the glue.

Lift the Back Panel
2 minGently swing open the back cover from the right edge, taking care not to pull on the attached fingerprint reader flex cable.

Disconnect the Fingerprint Cable
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to gently pry up the fingerprint sensor press connector from the motherboard.

Remove the Lower Frame Screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the six screws holding down the lower speaker housing.

Pry Up the Speaker Housing
2 minInsert a plastic opening tool beneath the edge of the lower speaker assembly and pry it gently up out of the phone frame.

Remove the Old Loudspeaker
1 minUse tweezers to lift the loudspeaker module out from the plastic housing if it is not integrated.

Clean the Speaker Cavity
2 minClear any accumulated dust or old adhesive residue from the lower speaker recess with tweezers or isopropyl alcohol.

Position the New Speaker
2 minSet the new replacement loudspeaker module into the lower frame housing, aligning the contact pads correctly.

Snap the Housing into Place
1 minAlign the lower speaker housing over the frame and press down firmly around the edges until it clicks into place.

Secure the Lower Screws
3 minReinstall and tighten the six Phillips #00 screws to firmly attach the speaker assembly to the chassis.

Reconnect the Fingerprint Connector
2 minPosition the fingerprint sensor flex cable over its connector on the motherboard and press straight down until it snaps in place.

Clean Old Frame Adhesive
3 minScrape off remaining adhesive strips from both the back cover and the frame perimeter using a plastic spudger.

Apply New Back Cover Adhesive
3 minPlace custom pre-cut adhesive tape along the rear frame edges and peel off the protective film backing.

Seal the Rear Cover
2 minAlign the back panel with the phone chassis and press firmly along all edges to seat the fresh adhesive.

Reinsert the SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the device until it sits flush.
