   Eject the SIM Tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left frame edge. Press firmly to pop out the tray and remove it completely.

   Heat the Rear Glass

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the outer edges of the back panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive. Keep the heat source moving to avoid scorching the plastic.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the back cover. Pull up gently on the suction ring to create a slight gap between the cover and frame.

   Slice Rear Adhesive

   Insert an opening pick into the gap and slice along the bottom, left, and right edges. Keep the pick shallow near the fingerprint sensor on the upper half to prevent damaging its cable.

   Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor

   Tilt the back cover open slightly like a book. Use a plastic spudger to pry up the fingerprint reader flex connector from the motherboard, then remove the back cover.

   Unscrew Board Shield

   Remove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic motherboard frame and upper protective bracket. Organize the screws by size and location for reassembly.

   Remove Motherboard Shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger beneath the motherboard shield and lift it off the chassis. Set the shield aside.

   Disconnect Battery Cable

   Pry the battery connector straight up from its socket on the logic board using a plastic opening tool. Disconnecting power prevents short circuits during board removal.

   Disconnect Display Cable

   Use a spudger to pop the wide display ribbon cable off its press connector on the motherboard.

    Disconnect Sub-Board Flex

    Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable connecting the logic board to the bottom charging daughterboard.

    Disconnect Antenna Cables

    Carefully pry up the black and white coaxial antenna cable heads from their sockets on the right side of the board using tweezers.

    Disconnect Camera Modules

    Unplug the rear camera and front-facing camera flex connectors. Lift both camera modules out of their frame recesses using tweezers.

    Remove Logic Board Screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the lower corner of the logic board to the frame.

    Pry Out Logic Board

    Gently wedge a plastic spudger beneath the top edge of the logic board and lift it clear of the phone chassis.

    Inspect Under Magnification

    Examine the logic board using a magnifying glass or headlamp for burnt components, cold solder joints, or fluid residue.

    Reflow Damaged Joints

    Apply flux to cracked or corroded SMD connections and reflow them using a fine-tip soldering iron and desoldering braid as needed.

    Reinstall Logic Board

    Align the logic board back into the chassis and press down firmly until it clicks flat into place.

    Reconnect Internal Components

    Reattach the cameras, antenna wires, interconnect flex, display cable, and battery connector to their logic board sockets.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield with its screws, reconnect the fingerprint sensor cable, apply fresh adhesive strips, and press the back cover flush.
