Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to completely turn off your device.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole at the top frame and push gently to remove the tray.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minApply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the edges of the rear cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the charging port.

Slice through the rear adhesive
5 minPull up on the suction cup to create a gap, insert an opening pick, and slide it around the edges to separate the cover.

Disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex
2 minCarefully tilt the back glass up and use tweezers to detach the fingerprint reader connector from the motherboard.

Remove the lower speaker assembly screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower speaker shield.

Pry out the speaker cover
2 minInsert a plastic spudger under the speaker housing edge and lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect the daughterboard main cable
1 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop off the interconnect flex cable connector on the lower board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minPry up the antenna cable head from the bottom daughterboard using precision tweezers.

Remove the microphone daughterboard
2 minPry beneath the sub-board using a plastic opening tool and lift the microphone assembly out.

Install the new microphone board
2 minAlign the replacement microphone daughterboard into the lower housing recess and press it firmly into place.

Reconnect the antenna and main flex cables
2 minSnap the coaxial antenna head and the main interconnect ribbon cable connector back onto the new board.

Reinstall the lower speaker housing
3 minPosition the speaker cover over the bottom board and tighten the Phillips screws to secure it.

Reconnect the fingerprint sensor and seal
4 minPlug the fingerprint sensor cable in, apply new rear adhesive, and press the back glass firmly back onto the chassis.
