Step-by-step

Power Off Device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the phone is completely shut down before proceeding.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the top edge of the frame to release the SIM tray. Pull the tray completely out of the device.

Heat Rear Glass
3 minApply heat evenly along the edges of the back cover using a heat gun on low power for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear glass near the bottom edge. Pull up on the ring to create a slight gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear glass and the frame.

Slice Rear Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick carefully around all four sides of the phone frame to separate the perimeter adhesive.

Lift Back Cover
2 minGently hinge the rear glass open from the right side. Do not pull it away completely yet, as the fingerprint sensor cable is still connected.

Disconnect Fingerprint Sensor
2 minUse a spudger to gently pop the fingerprint sensor flex cable connector straight off the motherboard socket. Set the rear glass aside.

Remove Midframe Screws
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the ten screws securing the upper plastic midframe cover.

Pry Off Upper Midframe
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the upper midframe shield and lift it up to detach it from the phone frame.

Disconnect Battery Cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up off the logic board using a plastic spudger to cut off power.

Disconnect Interconnect Cables
3 minPry up the display flex, main interconnect flex, and antenna coaxial cable connectors from the top edge and surface of the board.

Disconnect Rear Cameras
2 minDisconnect the rear camera press connectors using a spudger, then lift the dual-camera assembly out of its recess.

Remove Board Screws
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the lower edge of the logic board to the inner chassis.

Pry Up Logic Board
3 minInsert a spudger under the top edge of the logic board and gently pry it out of the frame.
