   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before proceeding.

   Heat the rear glass panel

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun to the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the factory adhesive.

   Attach a suction handle

   Place a suction cup onto the lower third of the back cover and pull upward gently to create a gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a plastic opening pick into the gap created between the rear glass and the plastic frame.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back cover. Do not insert the pick deeper than 4mm to avoid damaging internal cables.

   Hinge the back cover open

   Gently lift the right side of the rear glass like a book, taking care not to strain the fingerprint sensor flex cable attached to the middle.

   Disconnect the fingerprint flex cable

   Use a plastic spudger to pry the fingerprint sensor flex connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

   Unscrew the motherboard shield

   Remove the ten Phillips #00 screws holding down the upper plastic motherboard cover and speaker assembly.

   Remove the motherboard shield

   Insert the flat end of a spudger under the bottom edge of the shield and lift it clear of the frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Pry the battery press-connector straight up from the motherboard to disconnect power completely.

    Disconnect the display cable

    Disconnect the main display flex cable that runs over the top of the battery so it doesn't get damaged.

    Apply adhesive remover

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the left and right sides of the battery to dissolve the glue beneath.

    Pry out the battery

    Insert a flat plastic opening card beneath the battery and gently lift until it separates from the housing frame.

    Clean the battery well

    Wipe away any remaining glue residue inside the battery well using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Lay fresh double-sided adhesive strips into the battery compartment and peel off the protective backing film.

    Install the new battery

    Align the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly across its surface for ten seconds.

    Reconnect internal cables

    Press the display flex cable and the battery connector firmly into their motherboard sockets until they click.

    Reinstall the motherboard shield

    Set the plastic shield back into position and secure it using the ten Phillips #00 screws.

    Seal the rear panel

    Reconnect the fingerprint sensor, lay fresh perimeter adhesive tape onto the frame, and press the rear glass into place.
