   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button until the options menu appears. Tap 'Power off' and wait for the screen to turn completely dark.

   Eject the SIM tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the side of the device. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer to apply mild heat along the rear perimeter for two to three minutes. This softens the adhesive holding the plastic rear panel.

   Attach a suction cup

   Place a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel. Press down to secure suction, then gently pull upward to create a small gap.

   Insert an opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created between the back panel and the frame.

   Slice the rear adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel to slice through the adhesive seal.

   Remove the back cover

   Lift the back cover away from the phone body and set it aside safely.

   Unscrew the upper motherboard shield

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard bracket.

   Detach the motherboard shield

   Pry up the edges of the upper bracket with a spudger and lift it off the frame.

    Disconnect the battery cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket.

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery compartment.

    Locate the adhesive pull-tabs

    Find the clear or colored pull-tabs located at the base of the battery.

    Pull the adhesive strips

    Grasp each pull-tab and slowly pull the adhesive strip out at a flat angle, keeping steady pressure.

    Pry out the old battery

    Insert a plastic card or flat spudger under the battery edge and gently lever the old battery out of the chassis.

    Clean the battery compartment

    Wipe away remaining adhesive residue inside the battery bay using isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the backing off new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery well.

    Install the replacement battery

    Align the new battery with the socket position and press it firmly down into the adhesive.

    Reconnect the flex cables

    Align and press down the main interconnect ribbon and battery cable connectors until they snap into place.

    Reattach the motherboard shield

    Place the upper plastic cover back into position over the motherboard and tighten its Phillips #00 screws.

    Reinstall the loudspeaker

    Fit the loudspeaker module into the lower portion of the frame and secure it with the remaining screws.

    Apply fresh rear cover adhesive

    Apply custom pre-cut adhesive strips around the outer perimeter of the phone chassis.

    Reseal the back cover

    Align the back cover with the body and press down firmly around the entire border to ensure a secure bond.

    Reinsert the SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it sits flush.
