Power Off the Device

3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the glass rear panel for two to three minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach the Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower section of the rear glass cover and gently pull upward to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass back cover and the main frame.

Slice the Perimeter Adhesive
4 minMove the pick carefully along all four sides of the phone to cut through the factory adhesive layer.

2 minUnclip the volume button flex cable connector from its socket on the motherboard using a spudger.

3 minGently slide fine-tip tweezers underneath the volume button flex ribbon adhesive along the inner side frame.

Replace Volume Button Assembly
3 minRemove the old volume button flex cable and seat the replacement ribbon into the channel on the frame.

Reconnect Volume Button Flex
2 minAlign the press connector on the new volume button ribbon with the motherboard socket and press down firmly.

1 minPress the battery flex cable connector back onto its matching socket on the motherboard.
