Step-by-step
- 1
Heat the rear glass
3 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the rear glass for 2-3 minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Apply a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower half of the back cover and pull gently upward to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam created between the rear glass and the phone chassis.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minSlide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the glue layer.

Lift away the rear glass
2 minGently lift the rear glass clear of the frame and place it on a clean work surface.

Remove lower speaker screws
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the lower loudspeaker plastic housing.

Pry up the loudspeaker assembly
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the loudspeaker unit and lever it up to remove it.

Disconnect the main interconnect flex cable
2 minUse a plastic spudger to pop open the press connector linking the daughterboard to the main board.

Disconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minGently lever the gold antenna head straight up off the lower daughterboard using fine tweezers.

Remove the old microphone daughterboard
3 minPry up the lower daughterboard containing the primary microphone assembly from the chassis.

Position the new microphone sub-board
3 minAlign the replacement microphone sub-board into the lower housing recess and press it gently into place.

Reconnect the coaxial antenna cable
2 minSnap the antenna connector back onto its socket on the new sub-board until it clicks.

Reconnect the main interconnect flex cable
2 minAlign and press down on the flex cable connector to secure it to the microphone board.

Reinstall the loudspeaker module
2 minSet the lower loudspeaker assembly back onto the frame and press down to snap it in position.

Fasten the loudspeaker screws
3 minReinsert and tighten the Phillips #00 screws to hold the lower speaker and microphone sub-board securely.

Apply new back cover adhesive
4 minPlace precut adhesive strips along the perimeter frame or apply fresh adhesive tape to the back glass.

Seal the rear glass
3 minAlign the rear glass with the phone frame and apply firm pressure around all edges to bond the adhesive.
