Step-by-step

Power off the device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to shut down the phone completely.

Heat the rear glass panel
3 minUse a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the rear glass for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
2 minPress a suction cup onto the lower third of the rear cover and pull upward firmly to create a small opening.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic prying tool into the seam and slide it around the perimeter to cut through the glue.

Disconnect fingerprint ribbon cable
2 minSlightly tilt the back cover open and use a spudger to detach the fingerprint sensor connector from the board.

Unscrew midframe shield
4 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic inner midframe to the phone chassis.

Remove upper midframe cover
2 minInsert a spudger under the top plastic midframe shield and gently lift it out of the device.

Disconnect battery flex cable
1 minPry the battery connector straight up from its motherboard socket to kill power to the board.

Disconnect camera cables
2 minUse a spudger to pop off the press-connectors for both the front and rear camera modules.

Unplug display and daughterboard flexes
2 minDisconnect the main display ribbon cable and the lower interconnect cable from the logic board.

Detach antenna coax cables
2 minUse fine tweezers to carefully unsnap the blue and white antenna coaxial cables from their logic board connectors.

Remove motherboard grounding screw
1 minUnscrew the single Phillips #00 screw securing the logic board near the top left corner.

Extract logic board
3 minLift the logic board up from the bottom edge and remove it from the frame chassis.
