Safety
- Heat the back cover moderately to prevent melting internal plastic parts or overheating the battery.
- Do not pull the rear cover away quickly, or you risk tearing the fragile fingerprint sensor flex cable.
- Ensure the device is powered off completely before inserting tools near the motherboard.

Step-by-step

Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then tap Power Off to turn off the phone completely.

Eject SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the pinhole on the upper left edge and pull out the card tray.

Heat rear cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach suction cup
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower third of the plastic back cover.

Create opening gap
2 minPull up on the suction cup while holding the frame down to create a tiny gap at the bottom edge.

Insert opening pick
1 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the main body frame.

Slice rear adhesive
3 minSlide the plastic pick carefully around all four sides of the phone to separate the glue.

Lift back cover carefully
1 minGently swing open the back cover from the left edge without straining the attached fingerprint sensor flex cable.

Remove sensor bracket screw
1 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the screw securing the metal fingerprint connector bracket.

Disconnect fingerprint sensor
1 minPry the fingerprint sensor flex cable straight up from its motherboard terminal using a plastic spudger.

Remove loudspeaker screws
2 minUnscrew the five Phillips #000 screws holding the lower speaker module to the frame.

Pry up loudspeaker
2 minInsert a spudger under the notch on top of the loudspeaker assembly and lift it out of the chassis.

Install replacement loudspeaker
2 minPlace the new speaker module into the bottom recess and press down until it snaps into place.

Secure loudspeaker screws
2 minReinstall the five Phillips #000 screws to anchor the loudspeaker assembly.

Reconnect fingerprint sensor
1 minAlign the fingerprint connector over its socket on the motherboard and press down to connect it.

Reinstall sensor bracket
1 minPosition the metal shield over the fingerprint cable connector and replace the single Phillips screw.

Apply back cover adhesive
3 minApply fresh double-sided pre-cut adhesive tape along the outer perimeter of the phone frame.

Press back cover shut
2 minAlign the rear cover with the chassis and press firmly along all edges to secure the seal.
