   Power Off the Phone

   Press and hold the power button, then tap 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the Display Edges

   Apply a heat gun or hair dryer around the perimeter of the front screen for approximately two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the display to the frame.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Place a suction cup near the bottom edge of the display glass. Press down firmly to create a strong seal against the glass.

   Slice Display Adhesive

   Gently pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then insert a plastic opening pick. Slide the pick around all four edges to cut through the display adhesive.

   Pry the Screen Assembly

   Carefully lift the top edge of the display screen up like a book cover. Do not pull it away completely yet, as fragile flex cables are still connected near the bottom.

   Disconnect Display Cable

   Use a spudger to pry off the metal shield covering the display connector. Pry the display flex cable straight up from its socket on the motherboard and set the screen aside.

   Remove Midframe Screws

    Locate the volume button assembly inside the side rail of the chassis. Use precision tweezers to carefully unclip the metal retaining bracket securing the switch.

    Remove Volume Flex Cable

    Disconnect the volume button flex cable ZIF connector on the motherboard. Pry up the flex cable adhesive using a spudger and remove the damaged assembly.

    Install New Volume Flex Cable

    Align the new volume button flex cable contacts into the chassis slot. Insert the ribbon end into the motherboard ZIF connector and latch the clip shut.

    Secure Volume Button Bracket
