Step-by-step
- 1
Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before starting.

Eject the SIM card tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or paperclip into the hole beside the SIM tray on the top edge. Press firmly to pop the tray out and remove it.

Heat the front display perimeter
3 minApply a heat gun or hair dryer around the edges of the screen for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the display adhesive beneath.

Attach suction cup to display
1 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the front glass near the home button area to establish a strong seal.

Insert opening pick
2 minPull up gently on the suction cup handle to create a tiny gap at the bottom edge. Insert a thin plastic opening pick into the gap.

Slice bottom and side adhesive
4 minSlide the plastic pick along the bottom and up both side edges to slice through the adhesive. Apply additional heat if you feel resistance.

Slice top screen adhesive
3 minCarefully glide the pick across the top bezel near the earpiece speaker. Keep the pick depth under 3 mm to avoid damaging front sensors.

Lift the display open
2 minGently lift the top edge of the display assembly upward like a hood. Do not detach it completely, as the ribbon cable is connected near the bottom.

Unscrew display connector bracket
2 minLocate the metal shield covering the display cable connector near the bottom motherboard area. Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the retaining screw.

Remove display connector bracket
1 minUse precision tweezers to lift the metal shield off the display flex cable and place it in a safe location.

Disconnect display flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a spudger to gently pop the display flex connector straight up from its socket. Separate the old screen from the phone body.

Clean old frame adhesive
5 minPry away all remaining adhesive tape strips from the metal chassis frame using a spudger. Wipe the frame clean with isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth.

Connect replacement display cable
2 minAlign and press the flex cable connector of the new screen into the motherboard socket until it clicks into place.

Perform a functional test
3 minTemporarily turn on the phone to test the touch sensitivity and display quality of the new panel. Shut down the phone completely after testing.

Apply new frame adhesive
4 minLay fresh double-sided adhesive strips along the entire perimeter of the phone chassis frame. Peel off the protective paper backing strips.

Reinstall display connector bracket
2 minPosition the metal shield back over the display flex connector. Secure it using the Phillips #000 screw.

Seat the new display
3 minRemove any protective films from the back of the new screen. Align the panel precisely with the frame edges and press down firmly around the perimeter.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the top frame until it rests flush with the body.
