Step-by-step
- 1
Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool or thin paperclip into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left frame. Push firmly to eject the tray and set it aside.

Heat Display Assembly
3 minApply heat around the perimeter of the screen using a heat gun for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup firmly onto the lower half of the front glass screen. Pull up on the ring to create a slight separation between screen and frame.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minSlide a thin plastic opening pick into the seam opened by the suction cup at the bottom edge.

Slice Screen Adhesive
4 minCarefully slide the opening pick around all four edges of the screen to cut through the perimeter adhesive. Keep the pick shallow to avoid damaging internal flex cables.

Open Screen Assembly
2 minGently lift the right side of the screen and swing it open like a book to expose the internal shield plate.

Remove Display Bracket Screw
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display cable shield.

Disconnect Display Cable
2 minUse the pointed end of a spudger to pry the display cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket.

Remove Midframe Screws
4 minUnscrew the 12 Phillips #00 screws securing the plastic midframe panel to the rear housing.

Detach Plastic Midframe
3 minPry around the perimeter of the midframe shield with a plastic opening tool to release the clips and remove the frame.

Disconnect Battery Cable
2 minPry the battery connector up from the motherboard using the flat end of a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Power Button Cable
2 minFlip up the small locking flap on the power and volume button ZIF connector, then pull the ribbon cable out.

Peel Off Power Button Flex
3 minSlide precision tweezers beneath the power button flex cable to peel it away from the inner side frame.

Install New Power Cable
3 minAlign the replacement power button flex cable inside the recessed frame cutout and press down firmly on the adhesive backing.

Secure Power Flex Connector
2 minSlide the end of the new power button ribbon cable into the motherboard connector and close the locking flap.

Apply Display Adhesive
5 minClean remaining adhesive off the frame with isopropyl alcohol, place new pre-cut adhesive strips, and reassemble the phone in reverse order.
