Step-by-step

Power off the phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully powered down before starting.

Heat the front display glass
3 minApply heat around the display edges with a heat gun set to low for 2 to 3 minutes to soften the display adhesive.

Attach suction cup to screen
2 minPlace a suction cup onto the lower third of the glass panel and pull upward gently to create a small gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap between the glass screen assembly and the outer frame.

Slice perimeter display adhesive
5 minSlide the pick around all four edges to cut through the adhesive. Keep the pick shallow near the top to protect the front sensors.

Pivot the display open
2 minGently swing the display open from the left side like a book cover. Do not strain the display cable attached on the right.

Unscrew display cable shield
2 minUse a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the single screw securing the metal display cable bracket.

Disconnect the display cable
2 minPry the display flex connector straight up from the logic board using the flat end of a spudger.

Unscrew the plastic midframe
4 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws holding the black plastic midframe cover to the phone housing.

Remove the midframe cover
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the midframe and lift it off to expose the motherboard and battery.

Disconnect the battery cable
2 minUse a spudger to detach the main battery press connector from the logic board to disable power.

Disconnect rear camera flex
2 minPop the rear camera press connector off its motherboard socket and lift the camera module out using tweezers.

Disconnect front camera flex
2 minUnplug the front camera connector and lift the camera module away from the top recessed housing.

Disconnect antenna coaxial cable
2 minUse fine tweezers to gently pry up the round antenna coaxial cable connector near the lower edge of the board.

Unscrew logic board screws
3 minRemove the remaining Phillips screws securing the logic board assembly to the aluminum frame.

Lift out the logic board
3 minGently lift the logic board out of the housing by grabbing the bottom edge and tilting it upward.
