   Power Off and Eject SIM Tray

   Turn off the phone completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge and push to remove the SIM tray.

   Heat Front Screen Edges

   Apply a heated iOpener or heat gun around the perimeter of the screen for two minutes to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach Suction Cup

   Press a suction cup onto the lower half of the front glass, just above the home button.

   Insert Opening Pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap at the bottom edge, then slide an opening pick under the display glass.

   Slice Bottom Edge Adhesive

   Slide the pick along the bottom edge to slice through the adhesive, taking care not to insert the pick deeper than 3 millimeters.

   Slice Left Edge Adhesive

   Move the pick around the bottom-left corner and slide it up the left edge to separate the adhesive.

   Slice Right Edge Adhesive

   Insert a second pick and carefully slide it up the right edge toward the top of the device.

   Slide the pick across the top edge near the earpiece to cut through the remaining adhesive.

   Lift Display Assembly

   Gently pivot the top edge of the screen upward from the body like a book, leaving the bottom edge near the ribbon cables.

    Unscrew Display Cable Shield

    Use a Torx screwdriver to remove the single screw holding the metal display cable shield near the bottom of the board.

    Remove Display Cable Shield

    Use tweezers to lift and remove the small metal shield covering the display connector.

    Disconnect Display Cable

    Pry the display flex connector straight up from its socket using the flat edge of a plastic spudger.

    Remove Front Display Assembly

    Lift the display assembly away from the body and set it aside in a clean location.

    Unscrew Midframe Fasteners

    Remove all screws securing the metal midframe shield to the phone frame using your precision screwdriver set.

    Detach Metal Midframe

    Gently lift the metal midframe shield off the phone to expose the internal components and battery.

    Use a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight off its motherboard socket.

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the top and bottom edges of the battery to weaken the glue.

    Insert a flat plastic opening card or wide spudger under the battery and slowly lever it up from the chassis.

    Lift the original battery out of the frame and dispose of adhesive residue left in the compartment.

    Apply Battery Adhesive Strips

    Place new double-sided adhesive strips into the battery compartment and peel off the protective backing.

    Lower the replacement battery into the frame and press down firmly across its surface to secure it.

    Plug In Battery Cable

    Align and press the battery flex connector back onto the motherboard until it clicks into place.
