   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the Power button until the power options appear on screen. Tap 'Power off' and wait for the device to shut down completely.

   Heat the display edges

   Apply heat around the outer perimeter of the glass for 2 to 3 minutes using a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the display adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup near the upper edge of the display screen. Press firmly to ensure a strong seal against the glass.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap between the glass and frame. Insert the tip of a plastic opening pick into the gap.

   Slice top edge adhesive

   Slide the plastic pick along the top edge of the phone to cut through the adhesive seal. Do not insert the pick deeper than 3 mm.

   Slice side edge adhesive

   Guide the opening pick down both side edges to slice through the perimeter tape holding the assembly.

   Slice bottom edge carefully

   Gently slice along the bottom edge, using shallow pick movements to avoid damaging the home button and fingerprint sensor flex cable.

   Pivot display assembly open

   Lift the top edge of the screen assembly upward like a book cover. Rest the assembly open without putting strain on the flex cables.

   Remove display bracket screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the metal display cable shield to the motherboard.

    Remove display connector bracket

    Use tweezers to carefully lift and remove the metal shield covering the display cable connection.

    Disconnect display flex cable

    Pry the display flex cable connector straight up from its motherboard socket using the flat end of a spudger.

    Remove the Phillips screws holding the fingerprint reader bracket to the rear of the old display panel.

    Apply replacement display adhesive

    Lay pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the recessed edges of the metal frame, avoiding sensor and speaker openings.

    Connect replacement display cable

    Align the replacement screen's flex connector over the socket on the motherboard and press down until it clicks into place.

    Reinstall display connector bracket

    Position the metal cable shield back over the display connector and tighten the Phillips screws to secure it.
