   Power off the device

   Press and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off on the screen. Ensure the device is fully shut down before proceeding.

   Heat the rear cover edges

   Use a heat gun or iOpener around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes. This softens the adhesive securing the rear panel.

   Apply suction cup

   Attach a suction cup to the lower portion of the rear glass panel. Pull gently to create a small gap between the panel and the frame.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap created by the suction cup. Do not insert it deeper than 3 mm to avoid internal components.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully around all four edges of the back panel. Reapply heat if the adhesive becomes resistant.

   Remove rear cover

   Lift the rear cover away from the chassis carefully. Set it aside on a clean, scratch-free surface.

   Unscrew upper motherboard cover

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws securing the top plastic protective bracket.

   Detach upper motherboard bracket

   Gently lift the plastic shield off the motherboard using a spudger and set it aside.

   Disconnect the battery cable

   Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery flex connector straight up from its socket. This cuts power to the device.

    Unscrew lower loudspeaker module

    Remove the Phillips screws holding down the lower speaker assembly over the charging port area.

    Remove loudspeaker assembly

    Pry up the loudspeaker module using a plastic spudger and lift it out of the frame.

    Disconnect main interconnect flex cable

    Use a spudger to detach the main ribbon cable press connector from the sub-board.

    Disconnect antenna coaxial cable

    Gently pry up the head of the white coaxial antenna cable from its terminal on the charging board.

    Remove sub-board retaining screw

    Unscrew the single Phillips screw securing the charging port sub-board to the frame, if present.

    Pry out old charging port board

    Insert the edge of a spudger underneath the daughterboard and carefully lever it out of its housing.

    Position new charging port board

    Align the new sub-board into the recessed cavity at the bottom of the phone frame.

    Secure sub-board screw

    Reinstall and tighten the Phillips screw to fix the new charging port board in place.

    Reconnect antenna coaxial cable

    Align the antenna cable head over its socket and press down firmly until it snaps into place.

    Attach interconnect flex cable

    Press the lower end of the main interconnect flex cable back onto the sub-board connector.

    Reconnect battery press connector

    Snap the battery flex cable back into its socket on the upper motherboard.

    Reinstall loudspeaker module

    Seat the speaker module back over the sub-board and press it flat into position.

    Fasten loudspeaker screws

    Secure the speaker assembly with the Phillips screws removed earlier.

    Reattach upper motherboard bracket

    Place the upper bracket back in position and reinstall its Phillips screws.

    Clean frame adhesive tracks

    Use isopropyl alcohol and a lint-free cloth to scrape off residual adhesive around the frame edge.

    Apply rear cover adhesive

    Place pre-cut adhesive strips along the phone frame perimeter for a secure seal.

    Press rear cover into place

    Align the rear cover with the frame and press firmly around all edges to bond the adhesive.
