   Power off and remove SIM tray

   Turn off the phone completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left edge to remove the SIM card tray.

   Heat the back cover

   Use a heat gun or hairdryer to heat the edges of the plastic back cover for two minutes to soften the underlying adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Place a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel and pull upward to create a slight gap.

   Insert opening pick

   Slide a thin plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear cover and the phone frame.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick carefully along all four sides of the rear cover to separate the adhesive strips.

   Remove the back cover

   Lifting gently from the side, separate the back cover completely from the body of the phone.

   Unscrew midframe screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe cover.

   Disconnect fingerprint cable

   Slightly lift the upper edge of the midframe and use a spudger to disconnect the fingerprint sensor flex cable.

   Remove the midframe

   Unclip the remaining plastic tabs around the perimeter and lift off the midframe shield.

    Disconnect the battery

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery connector straight up from the motherboard.

    Disconnect the display flex

    Locate the screen flex connector on the lower motherboard assembly and pop it off with a spudger.

    Heat the front screen

    Apply heat evenly across the front glass display for about three minutes to loosen the factory display glue.

    Insert pick under display

    Insert a sharp opening pick under the glass in the lower corner of the front screen assembly.

    Slice display adhesive

    Move the pick around all four screen borders to completely break the display adhesive seal.

    Remove cracked screen

    Lift the screen up from the frame, carefully threading its flex cable through the frame cutout slot.

    Clean frame perimeter

    Use tweezers and isopropyl alcohol to scrape away all remnants of old glass fragments and adhesive.

    Apply display adhesive

    Lay down fresh, pre-cut double-sided adhesive strips along the entire inner ledge of the front frame.

    Install the new screen

    Thread the new display flex cable through the slot and press the screen firmly into place along the borders.

    Reconnect display flex cable

    Align the screen flex press connector over its socket and press firmly until it snaps into position.

    Reconnect battery press cable

    Press the battery cable connector back into its motherboard socket.

    Attach fingerprint flex cable

    Hold the midframe near the motherboard and reconnect its fingerprint sensor cable.

    Snap midframe in place

    Align the plastic midframe over the body and push down on the edges until all clips lock in.

    Secure midframe screws

    Reinstall all Phillips #00 screws into the midframe to hold the internal components tight.

    Reseal back cover

    Apply double-sided adhesive to the rear rim and press the back cover firmly onto the phone frame.

    Reinsert SIM tray

    Push the SIM card tray back into its slot on the left side of the phone until flush.
