Step-by-step

Power off and remove SIM tray
2 minTurn off your Moto G54 completely. Insert a SIM eject tool into the tray hole on the left edge and pull out the SIM tray.

Heat the back cover
3 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer to warm the edges of the plastic back cover for two minutes to soften the internal adhesive.

Attach suction cup and create a gap
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the back panel and pull gently to create a small gap.

Slice perimeter adhesive
5 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it slowly around all four edges to slice through the adhesive seal.

Remove the back cover
2 minGently lift the back cover off the chassis and set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew upper midframe shield
4 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all visible screws securing the top plastic motherboard bracket.

Unclip and remove plastic upper frame
3 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the upper plastic frame and pry gently to unclip and remove it.

Disconnect the battery flex cable
2 minUse the flat end of a plastic spudger to pop the battery connector straight up off the logic board.

Disconnect interconnect and display cables
3 minLever up the display press-fit connector and main interconnect flex cable connectors from the top board.

Disconnect coaxial antenna cables
2 minUse precision tweezers to carefully pop the white and black antenna coaxial connectors off their sockets on the board.

Remove logic board retaining screws
3 minUnscrew any remaining Phillips screws anchoring the logic board to the inner frame.

Pry up and remove logic board
3 minCarefully insert a spudger under the bottom edge of the motherboard and lift it out of the phone body.

Position replacement logic board
4 minAlign the new logic board with the housing cutouts and press it gently into place until seated flat.

Reconnect cables and reassemble frame
6 minReconnect the coaxial cables, flex ribbons, and battery, then screw the plastic midframe shield back over the board.
