Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen.

Eject SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the frame and press firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat Back Cover Edges
2 minApply a heat gun or iOpener around the perimeter of the back cover for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup onto the lower portion of the rear panel near the charging port.

Insert Opening Pick
2 minPull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide an opening pick under the plastic back cover.

Slice Rear Panel Adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to separate it completely from the frame.

Remove Back Cover
1 minLift the back cover off the chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew Speaker Housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the seven screws holding the lower speaker housing.

Pry Off Speaker Assembly
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and lift it out of the frame.

Disconnect Battery Cable
2 minLocate the battery flex cable connector near the mainboard area and snap it up with a spudger to cut power.

Disconnect Interconnect Flex Cable
2 minPry the bottom main interconnect flex cable straight up from the daughterboard using a plastic spudger.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
2 minGently pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the right side of the daughterboard using tweezers.

Unscrew Charging Board
1 minRemove the single Phillips #00 screw securing the daughterboard to the bottom chassis frame.

Remove Old Daughterboard
2 minLever a spudger underneath the charging port daughterboard and lift it out from the device.

Position New Daughterboard
2 minAlign the replacement charging port board into the lower frame cavity and press it gently into position.

Fasten Board Screw
1 minReinstall and tighten the single Phillips #00 screw to hold the daughterboard secure.

Attach Antenna Cable
2 minPosition the antenna cable press connector over its socket on the daughterboard and snap it down firmly.

Attach Interconnect Flex Cable
2 minAlign the main interconnect ribbon connector over the daughterboard socket and press until it clicks into place.

Reconnect Battery Cable
1 minPress the battery flex cable connector onto its motherboard socket until securely seated.

Reinstall Speaker Assembly
2 minFit the lower speaker cover back over the daughterboard and align the screw holes.

Fasten Speaker Screws
3 minInsert and tighten the seven Phillips #00 screws securing the speaker cover.

Apply Back Panel Adhesive
3 minClean remaining glue with isopropyl alcohol and lay down new double-sided adhesive tape along the outer frame.

Seal Back Cover
2 minPress the back cover firmly onto the rear chassis along all four edges to bond the adhesive.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minSlide the SIM tray back into its slot on the left frame until flush.
