   Power off the phone

   Press and hold the power button, then select 'Power off' on the screen. Ensure the device is completely powered down before continuing.

   Remove SIM card tray

   Insert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge. Push firmly to pop the tray out and set it aside.

   Heat the back panel

   Use a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat around the outer edges of the back cover for 2-3 minutes to soften the adhesive.

   Attach suction cup

   Press a suction cup firmly onto the lower portion of the rear panel, near the bottom edge.

   Insert opening pick

   Pull up on the suction cup to create a small gap, then slide an opening pick under the plastic back panel.

   Slice perimeter adhesive

   Slide the pick around all four edges of the back cover to cut through the perimeter glue. Reapply heat if the adhesive resists.

   Lift off the back panel

   Gently lift the rear cover away from the phone body. Set the back panel aside in a safe spot.

   Remove upper frame screws

   Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic motherboard protective cover.

   Remove motherboard cover

   Insert a plastic spudger under the edge of the motherboard bracket and pry it up carefully to unclip and remove it.

    Disconnect the battery flex cable

    Use the flat end of a plastic spudger to pry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard socket.

    Disconnect interconnect flex cables

    Pry up the connectors for the main flex cable and display cable that cross over the battery assembly.

    Apply isopropyl alcohol

    Apply a few drops of high-concentration isopropyl alcohol along the gaps between the battery and the frame frame to weaken the adhesive.

    Pry up the battery

    Insert a wide plastic card or spudger beneath the battery from the side, prying slowly until the battery lifts free.

    Remove the old battery

    Lift the battery out of the frame completely and inspect the well for remaining tape or debris.

    Clean battery housing

    Use tweezers and a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol to clean away old adhesive residue from the mid-frame.

    Apply new battery adhesive

    Peel the backing from new battery adhesive strips and lay them flat inside the battery housing area.

    Set new battery in place

    Align the replacement battery in the bay and press down firmly across its surface to secure it to the fresh adhesive.

    Reconnect interconnect cables

    Align and press down the interconnect and display flex cable connectors onto their motherboard sockets until they snap into place.

    Reconnect the battery cable

    Press the battery flex cable connector firmly onto its motherboard terminal.

    Reinstall motherboard cover

    Position the top plastic bracket back over the motherboard and press down until it snaps around the edges.

    Secure bracket screws

    Thread and tighten all Phillips screws back into the upper motherboard cover.

    Apply back panel adhesive

    Apply pre-cut adhesive tape along the perimeter edges of the phone frame.

    Reattach the back panel

    Align the back panel over the rear of the phone and press down firmly around all edges to set the bond.
