Step-by-step

Turn off the phone
1 minPress and hold the Power button, then tap Power Off to shut down your Moto G53 completely.

Eject the SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the card slot on the left edge and push firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat the back cover
2 minApply a heat gun or hairdryer along the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes to soften the adhesive.

Attach a suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup on the lower portion of the back panel and pull upward to create a thin gap.

Insert an opening pick
2 minSlide a plastic opening pick into the gap between the rear glass cover and the plastic frame.

Slice the adhesive
4 minSlide the pick around all four edges of the phone to cut through the perimeter adhesive seal.

Remove the back cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear panel off the phone body and set it aside.

Unscrew the speaker housing
3 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding down the lower speaker cover module.

Pry up the loudspeaker module
2 minInsert the flat end of a spudger beneath the edge of the speaker module and lift it out of the chassis.

Clean the speaker recess
2 minUse tweezers to clear away any dirt, dust mesh remnants, or old adhesive left in the speaker cavity.

Install the new loudspeaker
2 minPlace the new speaker module into the lower housing recess and press down until it sits flush.

Reinstall the speaker cover screws
3 minPosition the plastic lower cover back over the speaker assembly and tighten all Phillips screws securely.

Apply back panel adhesive
3 minApply pre-cut adhesive strips along the outer frame edges to ensure a tight seal for the back cover.

Reattach the rear panel
2 minAlign the back cover with the frame and press firmly along the perimeter to secure it in place.

Reinsert the SIM tray
1 minSlide the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the phone until it clicks flush.
