Step-by-step

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the side of the phone to pop out the tray. Remove the SIM tray completely.

Heat the Rear Panel
2 minApply heat evenly around the edges of the back cover for two minutes using a heat gun. This softens the adhesive securing the plastic panel.

Slice the Rear Panel Adhesive
4 minAttach a suction cup near the bottom edge and pull up gently to create a gap. Insert an opening pick and slide it around the perimeter to slice the glue.

Remove the Rear Cover
1 minLift the plastic back cover off the chassis. Set it aside on a clean surface.

Unscrew the Motherboard Cover
3 minRemove the Phillips #00 screws securing the upper plastic motherboard shield. Note screw lengths to ensure correct reassembly.

Slice Front Screen Adhesive
5 minPress a suction cup onto the front glass and lift to insert a thin opening pick. Carefully slide the pick around all four edges.

Remove the Damaged Screen
2 minLift the display off the frame, guiding the attached flex cable through the slot in the midframe.

Clean the Frame Bezel
5 minScrape away remaining glass splinters and old glue from the perimeter using tweezers and 99% isopropyl alcohol.

Apply Screen Adhesive Strips
3 minLay fresh, pre-cut display adhesive strips around the rim of the phone chassis and peel off the backing film.

Install the Replacement Display
3 minFeed the new screen flex cable through the frame opening and press the glass firmly into the frame.

Reconnect Display and Battery Cables
2 minSnap the display connector back onto the motherboard, followed by the battery flex connector.
