Step-by-step

Power Off Phone
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select Power Off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole on the left side of the frame and pull out the card tray.

Heat Back Cover
2 minUse a heat gun or hair dryer on low setting to warm the outer edges of the rear panel for two minutes.

Attach Suction Cup
2 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear panel and gently pull upward to create a thin gap.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minInsert a plastic prying pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Remove Rear Cover
1 minGently lift the plastic rear cover completely off the body and set it aside.

Unscrew Speaker Shield
2 minRemove the Phillips #000 screws securing the plastic lower speaker housing to the frame.

Remove Loudspeaker Housing
2 minInsert a spudger under the edge of the speaker module and pry up to remove it from the device.

Disconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minUse the flat tip of a spudger to pop the main flex cable connector off the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minGently pry up the thin coaxial antenna cable connector from the sub-board using tweezers.

Remove Primary Sub-Board
2 minLever the spudger under the corner of the sub-board containing the microphone and lift it out of the chassis.

Insert New Sub-Board
2 minPlace the replacement sub-board with the new microphone into the bottom recess of the frame.

Reconnect Antenna Cable
1 minAlign the coaxial antenna head over its socket on the sub-board and press straight down until it snaps into place.

Reconnect Interconnect Cable
1 minPosition the main flex cable connector over the sub-board socket and press firmly until it clicks.

Reattach Loudspeaker Housing
2 minAlign the speaker assembly over the lower sub-board and press down around the edges to seat the clips.

Fasten Speaker Screws
2 minReinstall the Phillips #000 screws into the speaker module to secure it back to the frame.

Reseal Back Cover
3 minApply new adhesive strips along the perimeter frame and press the rear cover down firmly.
