Step-by-step
- 1
Power Off the Phone
1 minTurn off your Motorola Moto G53 completely before starting the repair.

Eject the SIM Tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the hole next to the SIM tray on the left edge and pull the tray out.

Heat the Rear Cover
2 minApply a heating pad or hair dryer to the back cover for 2 minutes to soften the perimeter adhesive.

Attach Suction Cup
1 minPress a suction cup near the bottom edge of the plastic back cover and pull gently to create a small gap.

Insert Opening Pick
1 minInsert an opening pick into the gap created between the back cover and the frame.

Slice Rear Adhesive
3 minSlide the pick along all sides of the phone to cut through the remaining perimeter adhesive.

Lift Off Back Cover
1 minCarefully lift the rear cover off the chassis and set it aside.

Unscrew Lower Loudspeaker
2 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws holding the bottom speaker cover in place.

Remove Speaker Module
1 minPry under the edge of the loudspeaker assembly with a spudger and lift it out.

Disconnect Sub-Board Flex Cable
1 minUse a plastic spudger to pop the main interconnect flex cable connector off the sub-board.

Disconnect Antenna Cable
1 minCarefully pry up the coaxial antenna connector from the daughterboard using precision tweezers.

Remove Daughterboard Screws
1 minRemove the Phillips screw securing the charging port daughterboard to the inner frame.

Pry Out Charging Port Board
2 minGently slide a spudger under the charging port board to detach it from the phone housing.

Position New Charging Port Board
2 minAlign the replacement charging port board into the lower recess of the frame and press it gently into place.

Secure Daughterboard Screw
1 minReinstall the Phillips screw that locks the daughterboard onto the frame.

Reconnect Coaxial Antenna
1 minSnap the antenna cable connector head firmly back onto its socket on the new charging port board.

Reconnect Sub-Board Flex Cable
1 minAlign and press down on the interconnect flex cable connector until it clicks securely into place.

Reinstall Speaker Module
1 minPlace the loudspeaker module back over the sub-board and press down gently.

Secure Loudspeaker Screws
2 minInsert and tighten all Phillips screws to fix the loudspeaker housing.

Apply Rear Frame Adhesive
2 minPlace pre-cut adhesive strips around the outer perimeter of the phone frame.

Press Back Cover Closed
2 minAlign the back cover onto the phone body and press firmly along the edges to seal.

Reinsert SIM Tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot on the side of the device.
