Step-by-step
- 1
Power off device
1 minPress and hold the power button, then select power off on the screen to completely shut down the device.

Remove SIM tray
1 minInsert a SIM eject tool into the small hole on the left side of the frame and push firmly to pop out the tray.

Heat rear cover
3 minApply heat evenly around the outer edges of the back panel for two to three minutes using a heat gun.

Attach suction cup
2 minPlace a suction cup near the bottom edge of the rear cover and pull gently upward to create a slight gap.

Slice rear adhesive
4 minInsert a plastic opening pick into the gap and slide it along the perimeter to slice through the adhesive.

Remove back cover
2 minCarefully lift the rear panel off the frame once all adhesive has been cut.

Unscrew midframe screws
5 minUse a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove all screws securing the plastic midframe to the housing.

Unclip midframe bezel
3 minInsert a plastic opening tool between the frame display lip and midframe to unhook the plastic retaining clips.

Disconnect battery flex
1 minPry the battery press connector straight up off the motherboard using a nylon spudger.

Disconnect display connector
2 minLocate the main display flex cable on the sub-board and carefully lift it off its socket with the spudger.

Heat front screen
3 minHeat the front glass edges for two minutes to soften the display panel adhesive beneath.

Separate display glass
4 minApply a suction cup to the front glass, lift up, and slide an opening pick underneath the screen frame.

Remove damaged screen
3 minGuide the pick around all display edges to slice the adhesive, then thread the flex cable out as you remove the screen.

Clean frame adhesive
5 minScrape away remaining glue residue and tiny glass shards from the frame recess using tweezers and isopropyl alcohol.

Apply display adhesive
4 minLay down fresh pre-cut adhesive strips along the thin inner ledge of the phone frame.

Install new screen
3 minFeed the display flex cable through the slot in the frame and seat the screen evenly into place.

Connect display cable
1 minPress the screen flex connector gently into its motherboard socket until it clicks into position.

Reconnect battery flex
1 minAttach the battery press connector back onto the motherboard socket.

Reinstall midframe
4 minPosition the midframe over the chassis, snap the perimeter clips together, and tighten all Phillips screws.

Seal rear cover
3 minApply back cover adhesive strips to the chassis and press the rear cover down firmly for 30 seconds.

Reinsert SIM tray
1 minPush the SIM card tray back into its slot until it rests flush against the frame.
